Your Final essay covers your readings since the time of the midterm essay, and it is due by Sunday night. Provide 1-2 paragraph answers to the questions asked.

Prepare a reply to the essay questions listed below. Copy the questions to a WORD document, and respond below each question. Replies to each question should be at least one well written paragraph but no longer than two. Please save your Final essay as a Word Doc or Rich Text File (rtf) with your last name, first name and the assignment name in the file. It would take the form LastName_FirstName_Assignment. Thus, if your name is Alicia Jackson, you would use the file name: Jackson_Alicia_Final_Essay.rtf.

1.) In regards to the standards for membership into the Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs, why do they have these particular standards?

2.) What types of criminal activities are common among women in gangs? Why are the crimes of women in gangs restricted to these types of activities?

3.) Why do females join gangs? How could the known reasons for their joining be used to try to prevent them from becoming affiliated with gangs?

4.) What types of criminal and/or deviant activities are common to prison gangs?

5.) Discuss arguments about whether prison gangs are imported to the prison environment or emerge in response to it?

6.) Explain Hirschi?s (1969) view on gangs and how it enriches Hawkins, Catalano, and Miller?s (1992) risk-protective approach to gangs.
