The best way to avoid culture that leads to a learning disabled organization disabled is to follow system thinking and team learning. Systems? thinking are important in learning and is management discipline that concerns an understanding of a system by examining the linkages and interactions between the components that comprise the entirety of that defined system. The whole system is a systems thinking view of the complete organization in relation to its environment. It provides a means of understanding, analyzing and talking about the design and construction of the organization as an integrated, complex composition of many interconnected systems (human and non-human) that need to work together for the whole to function successfully.
An organization as an entity can suffer systemic failure. This occurs in the whole system or high-level system where there is a failure between and within the system elements that need to work together for overall success.
Team learning takes on special importance as organizations move to meet the demands of knowledge work. Despite the growing importance of team learning little is known about the mechanisms by which teams learn. In his influential book on organizational learning published over 15 years ago, Peter Senge (1990) expressed the lack of a comprehensive understanding of team learning team learning remains poorly understood.
