There is an ongoing debate concerning the effectiveness of “boot camp” or “scared straight” type programs for juvenile offenders. Research these type programs, and provide your opinion on whether or not they are an effective mechanism to impact repeat offending by juveniles. Include in your discussion success stories (or failures), the economic effectiveness of such programs, and the societal justification for such programs (or lack thereof).
