This week, we discussed how race-based residential segregation concentrates economic, social, and cultural capital in white communities. This disparity creates dissimilar opportunity structures that distinguish racial groups according to potential life course trajectories. How does racial segregation shape the resources available throughout childhood/adolescent experiences (name at least three)? How does the availability of these resources limit or facilitate social mobility?
