Some leaders are people oriented and believe in strengthening thepeople to achieve superior results. On the other hand, some leaders are task orientedand lay more stress on production than relationships. Leadership style consistsof a leader’s general personality, demeanor, and communication patterns in guidingothers toward reaching organizational or personal goals. Task-oriented leadership expresses the degree to which a leaderdefinesthe roles of their followers, focuses on goal achievement, and establishes welldefined patterns of communication. He has alsoinvented the PageRank, Googles best-known search ranking algorithm.He is a democratic leader who believes in innovation and empowerment.Robert Allen Bob Iger is the chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company. Heis the steward behind the strategic steps of Walt Disney Company that havemade the company a brand that no one can forget. He was awarded with John WoodenGlobal Leadership Award in 2013.He is a visionary and a transformational leader who has cherished the success andhistory of an age old company and has transformed it into the worlds largest mediacompany.Howard D. Schultz is the chairman and CEO of Starbucks Corporation. He wasranked as the 354th richest person in the US in 2012. It is his efforts who have made Starbucks as one of most ethicalcompanies in the world for consecutive 8 years.Schultz also makes Fortunes firstlist of the Worlds 50 Greatest Leaders.This paper aims to analyze and discuss the leadership styles of Larry Page asdemocratic leader, Bob Iger as transactional leader and Howards Schultz astransformational leader. Under their visionary leadership, their respective companiesoccupy respectable positions in the Business Fortunes list of 500 mostsuccessful companies. In this paper, I have attempted to explore the differentpersonality traits of the leaders that make them successful. It is the individualdifferencesthat create competent behaviors that take companies to pinnacle.The first section of report is Introduction that discusses and defines the problem inhand and contains objective formulation. The second section is LiteratureReview which explains the various leadership styles and their impact on the followers.For this, I will review various scholar articles and sources. In this section, I willalso discuss the three chosen leaders in detail such as their background, history,success story, accomplishments and companys success. For this, I will reviewvarious articles available online. The various cultural, political, economic, social andtechnical characteristics that contribute to leadership in different situations arealso included. The role of participation and empowerment in strengthening theleadership effectiveness is also analyzed and discussed. The role that ethics, power,governance play in shaping the leaders influence will also be discussed. The thirdsection is Research Methodology that encompasses the various elements ofresearch. This is a descriptive research that aims to describe the styles of chosenleaders and their impact on strategic decisions of the company. The fourth section isFindings where I will summarize the information so collected. I will try to compareand contrast the various leaders personalities through a chart. The fifth section isRecommendations where I will attempt to make few suggestions to implementinterventions to make leadership successful. The final section is Limitations that willdiscuss the various limiting situations and factors that hamper the productivity andcapabilities of these leaders.
