Healthcare Policy

When studying about healthcare polices and the role of the professional nurse, the conversation should be expanded to a broader perspective. The professional nurse must understand both local and national policy issues. This broader conversation should also consider future healthcare policies and the challenges that exist in creating and sustaining effective policies (O?Grady & Malloch, 2015).

Why is healthcare policy needed? If everyone were equally gifted, educated, motivated, healthy, and wealthy, would national healthcare policy be necessary?
