Purpose of this assignment: The unit requires you to develop a useful understanding of the relationship between music and the society in which you live. Part of this understanding will require some exploration of how this relationship has developed historically. Scenario: You have been asked as a music journalist to present an article you have written explaining the various functions of Music in Society. Using different examples of your choice that cover a range of music styles and functions you your article should be either a written document or a web blog. When you present your article, use interactive resources to engage the audience. For example play music clips, images and give out hand-outs on the different functions.
