I decided to search my picot questions base on inpatients with recurrent urinary tract infection due to the use of foley catheter because many nurses can prevent infections, the foley catheter should be given only when necessary and should be removed as soon as possible.
By removing them within 2 days post op to prevent recurrences.
P- Population patients with recurrence UTI due to foley catheter insertion
I-Intervention removing catheter within 24 hr period
C-Comparison the nurse involve in post op care
O-Outcome when the nurse is involved the chances of preventing that infection process from happening
